Unique Megastore review and why skins and shapes matter in Second Life

In Second Life, one of the most important things that your avie needs is a skin. Without this you would be wearing the default that came with your account when you first logged in and while this is perfectly usable, its not unique to you. If you have ever been to an infohub or safehub you will see all the new players landing in from the tutorial and they all look the same. There are more avies now in SL to choose from than years ago but because there is only a limited amount and because there are so many people joining every day you end up with an army of clones landing. This is why your skin and more importantly your shape matters.

One store that fulfills your need for good quality skins is Unique Megastore.

You can visit the store by clicking here

Lets check it out

What i like about this store is the ease at which you can move around in it. The store is large and has enough room for a lot of avies to be in the store at once. Just check out the entrance when you first land. Its a large impressive room that makes you feel that the store is quality.

One unique feature which you dont find everywhere is the link to the old store if you dont have a mesh enabled viewer. Personally i dont know anyone who still uses the v1 viewer of Second Life any more as almost everyone now has moved onto v2 or v3 viewers but it is nice that they give you this option

The selection of skins available here is huge. They have some really nice looking male and female skins with some really quality textures making them look really stunning. Now most people would say that your skin is one of the most important features of your Second Life, i mean this is what you see all the time on someone right? Just as in real life you see a persons features on their face all the time, its how we recognise people. While this is very true, what makes up those features is what helps make us unique, your shape.

Your shape, or your skeleton, is what makes your features stand out. This is what makes you unique, everyone has a different shape in real life and this is why i believe we should all try and make our own shape unique in Second Life. The skins you can buy at Unique Megastore sure do have quality written all over them and are some of the best for a classic avatar that i have seen in SL and are an excellent starting place for you to make your avie truly yours.

Dont think the girls are left out either, the female skins on sale here are really excellent quality and look fabulous. To be honest if you saw a group of females looking like this in real life you would think they were models they are that good. If you like your avie to look good and have spent money and time on getting their clothes to look good then you need a good skin and shape.

They also have 3 new female skins on sale which look absolutely stunning.

Another part of your avie which can totally change your look is your eyes. This is overlooked a lot in SL and people just end up wearing the same eyes for years. I know in real life we cant change our eyes so this is probably why but in Second Life you can give yourself a totally different look just by changing your eyes. I liken eyes in SL to coloured contact lenses in real life, just as you can change your looks just by wearing a different colour contact so you can change your eye colour in SL. The good thing about eyes too is they are unisex just as in real life and eye is an eye.

Just as in real life your looks are determined by your shape, skin and eyes this is more so in Second Life as its more about how things look so a good look is essential as it shows you take pride in your avie. True you an use SL with the default skin and shape all the time and you never need to change it but i would say 99% of people want to make their avie to be a refection of who they are in real life and a good place to start that journey is at Unique Megastore.
