Now there is one club that is constantly in the top 10 clubs on SL for the sheer amount of people it gets going to it. This is because of the music, the atmosphere, the staff and the VIP's that all go together to make a club that people just want to go hang out in. Its also a really nice place to just drop into and listen to some nice tunes and if you are from a generation who remembers the 80s like i do then you will like the tunes that they play too.

That club is called Big Daddys World 80s club and you can visit it by clicking here

There is more after the break

If you talk about clubs in Second Life there are very few with a history like Muddys and can say they are still one of the most popular in SL. Muddys however has both history and is consistently in the top 10 of clubs.

More about this amazing club after the jump

The Burning Man festival is a huge event in Real Life so its no surprise that its held in Second Life too.

BURN2 is the virtual world version of the real life Burning Man community festival, a unique culture which seeks to create social environments that are unmediated by commercial sponsorships, transactions, or advertising.

The sun was shining as we walked across the sand, the waves lapped at the shore and there were people surfing out on the breakwater. This was the life, sitting on a beach waiting for my interviewee to turn up. There are not many jobs where your office can be such a wonderful place as Kona Beach. My interviewee today is Dean Ingrao (Dingrao Morgath) who has been a DJ in Second Life since 2007. I looked up and there he was walking out of the water, "Just been for a quick surf" he said "hope you dont mind"

"I dont mind at all" i replied "what a nice place to conduct an interview"
"Its one of my favorite places in second life, much better than being in some office" Dean replied as he sat down on the sun lounger next to the table between us.

There are clubs on Second Life that come and go, everyone and their mother wants to own a club, they go out, get some land, buy a prefab club, hire a bunch of people and then it folds in a month because they realise how much hard work it is to run a club in Second Life.
One of the clubs that came and stayed since 2007 is Blackhearts Rock club. This club has a good management team which has enabled it to stay on the grid for 9 years straight. I remember visiting this club as a newbie back in 2007 so i know it has been there this long

When you first land you are at the entrance to the mall with the shops. The club is at the far end of this walkway which we will see after the jump

What is better than a club in a tropical setting? If you are into the club scene in SL and want a change to the usual urban industrial type settings for clubs why not try Club Leo?

You can visit the club here

Here is the view from the landing point and you can see the wonderful tropical setting in the background

In real life i like the art deco look, the designers of the 1930s sure knew how to make a statement with their different shapes and colours. The sweeping lines of the cars of the time are just one example, another are the trains with their curved cowlings hiding the angular shapes of the trains underneath. Another form of art deco is buildings. There were many built in this style and so its good to find a nightclub in Second Life carrying this trend on.

You can visit the club here

When you first land at the club you are greeted by this wonderful looking hall way in the art deco style. The soothing green colour gives a nice welcome and makes a change from a lot of clubs in Second life

Toxik Rock
Now as rock clubs go in SL, there are mainly 3 types. The good, such as Ohana and the Bittr End, The bad, well you know who they are and the down right ugly, the less said about those the better. However Toxik Rock luckily falls into the Good category. With its awesome green ambient look and the dance pads on the floor allowing multiple dancers to all dance in sequence (and these are not the usual dance pad dances either, these are premium ones) it makes for a nice looking club. However looks dont count for much if your sound isnt up to it. Luckily Toxik Rock delivers here by the truck load. If you are looking for rock then you have found it. Also they have a voting system where you can vote for your favorite songs that the DJ has been playing, which is a nice feature.
The management team are also a dedicated bunch who know their stuff when it comes to club management so you are guaranteed a good time if you are looking for a decent rock club.
Now anyone who lives in the UK will know of the Brighton. For those of you who dont, allow me to introduce you to one of the UK's premier seaside towns, which now has a sim in SL called New Brighton

You can check it out here

Here is an overview of the world famous pier and sea front. It does actually look realistic as a pier and with the waves lapping underneath it and the ironwork faithfully reproduced it does make it a nice looking place to visit

The sea front buildings are quite impressive with 3 story houses to rent with quite an allowance of prims to furnish them how you want

A first impression is always good if you can make it stand out. This is what the entrance to the pier does as it copies the victorian pier design that was used on a lot of piers in the late 1800s

There is a promenade that extends out to the pier head, along the way there are typical deckchairs that you would find at any UK beach and look right at home here

At the end of the pier is the theatre which houses live music and does recreate a genuine pier head theatre

What seaside town would be complete without a funfair? You can ride the merry go round on the horses or take a balloon ride

Further along the beach past the pier there are shops under the promenade, some of which are for rent if you wanted to start a new store, what better place to have a shop than on the beachfront?

The view of the whole promenade and beachfront with the pier is quite impressive and does capture the feeling of being at the seaside really well

Further around the sim there are beach huts for rent so if you ever wanted to have a little piece of home at the beach, here you can.

Along further and there are more of the beach huts, these used to be very popular at UK beaches during victorian times when families would rent them to change in during a time when even seeing someones ankles was seen as taboo

If you come inland from the beach you will find some more houses for rent, just as impressive as the ones on the beachfront but a little more secluded for those who dont wish to be straight in the hustle and bustle of the beach but want to be near enough to visit

Another angle of the promenade and beachfront with the pier. This time with the bandstand in view

Ok so i left the scooter picture until last. You cant have Brighton without scooters. Back in the 1960s there used to be mass rideouts to Brighton by the Mods who would ride there to hang out and have fun but it usually involved fights with the Rockers who rode motorbikes and listened to different styles of music.

Thank you for joining me on my visit to New Brighton, be sure to take a visit as it is a lot of fun and check our events listings for any events that are happening at New Brighton
